Welcome to the City of Moriarty Fire Department. Our department was established in 1952 with the purpose to save lives and property. The department provides services primarily to the City of Moriarty which consists of approximately 10 square miles with an estimated population of 2000. With secondary services provided through automatic and mutual aid agreements to the Town of Estancia, Mountainair, Torrance County, and Santa Fe County. Operations are conducted through two stations; Station 1 is located at 201 A Broadway and also houses our administrative offices and Station 2 is located at 6 Lexco Road. These stations provide Fire Suppression, EMS Services, Fire Prevention Education, Life Safety Inspections and Code Enforcement. Both stations operate Certified Transport Ambulances up to the level of Advance Life Support as certified by the New Mexico Public Regulatory Commission and the New Mexico EMS Bureau.
Our department staffing is classified as combination, meaning that our personnel consist of career and volunteer. But do not let this mislead you all of our personnel are professionals in their field and perform to the best of their abilities. All personnel are required to meet specific training requirements as well as complete a minimum number of shifts per month. Personnel receive incentives for the services they provide to the City of Moriarty which include:
- Uniform Package
- Fire/EMS Training Tuition Compensation
- PERA Volunteer Retirement Package
- State Licensing Fee Reimbursement
- Annual Awards/Service Banquet
The City of Moriarty Fire Department is a department forged in the tradition of those who paved the way for the current generation of Firefighters and EMT’s. We stand by our mission statement and code of conduct so as to provide optimal services to our city and it citizens. I invite you to visit our stations and see the services we provide, visit our personnel, and maybe you too will decide to make a difference in our community as a member of the Moriarty Fire Department.
